Jessi Luzius

she/her LMBT # 17671

I’m Jessi Luzius, licensed massage and bodywork therapist and owner of The Fold Bodywork studio. I believe bodywork is an important piece to the puzzle of self-care.

The aim of my work is to help you achieve your goals to; alleviate pain and discomfort, optimize your athletic performance, gain and maintain functional mobility, as well as deepen connection to your body. Bodywork performed in a safe and healing environment can help you reach those goals. My focus is integrative manual therapy and sports massage, I integrate and draw upon many modalities and tools to create a treatment plan that is tailored to your goals. I enjoy working with performers and athletes but take a similar approach with all my clients, athletic or not, by sleuthing out your repetitive strain culprits (work at a desk, much?) and bringing healthy movement, mobility and balance back to the body.  Each session is fully customized to cater to your specific needs, making sure you get the best experience and results possible.

I credit much of my early fascination with the human body and bodywork to my mother, who always had anatomy books and reflexology charts lying around the house. I’d study those endlessly and practice massage techniques with her at home. Fast forward many years of growing and traveling and career hopping and I finally came home to the idea of studying massage therapy in an official capacity.  In 2018 I graduated from Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville with my 600 hour Massage and Bodywork certification. I went on to work in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where I gained over a thousand hours of spa experience (and polished up my Spanish pretty well, too).

Returning to Asheville I have had the pleasure to work in some amazing clinics and healing houses and work as a sports massage therapist at both professional and recreational level athletic events. My training has covered these modalities:

  • Sports Massage

  • Cupping Therapy

  • Structural Integration and Myofascial Release

  • PNF and Muscle Energy Techniques

  • IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization)

  • Positional Release

  • Craniosacral Therapy

  • Corrective Exercise

  • Kinesiology Taping

I am an educator and teach new massage therapists in a foundational certification program as well as building out my offerings for continuing education for licensed therapists. I am continuously learning and building upon my skillset as a therapist and teacher. I’m licensed through the state of North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy (NCBMBT) and certified in corrective exercise, which has deepened my knowledge of human movement and allows me to help you make a plan outside the treatment room to keep you on the right track towards your goals.

If you are looking for better body function in your everyday life–maybe you’re recovering from an injury, or have stiffness from working long hours at a desk, cheffing, serving tables or picking up kids all day, maybe you are looking to enhance your athletic performance and recovery or maybe you just need a mental break to really connect with your body–I would love to meet you and help you achieve your overall body balancing goals. All bodies welcome.

Sessions are offered in English or Spanish.
